Getting STarted
Steps for setting up your first Physical Therapy appointment:
1. Most insurance companies require a referral from your primary care physician for physical therapy before they will pay for your therapy visits. If you are planning on using an insurance plan, you will need to provide us with a prescription for physical therapy from your doctor.
* If you need to come in for treatment and you don’t have insurance, we will gladly work with you according to our Private Pay Plan.
2. As a courtesy to you, WMPT verifies benefits and eligibility through your insurance plan prior to your first visit. We request that you call us as soon as you can and give us the necessary information so we can contact your insurance company. We also find out if you have a copay, coinsurance, and/or a yearly deductible per your plan.
* We will also ask you for general information, including your name, contact information, the name of your referring doctor and the reason for your visit, along with your primary and secondary insurance information.
3. After we obtain all of your information, we ask that you allow us a few days to contact your insurance company. With most plans, this usually only takes 24 hours. However, please be aware that some insurance companies take a little longer, depending on if prior authorization is needed, etc.
4. As soon as we have contacted your insurance company we will call you back and get you scheduled for your first appointment. We have 6 locations located across the White Mountains for your convenience.
5. Your first appointment with the physical therapist takes approximately 1 hour. He/she will discuss your condition with you and do a thorough evaluation. Your therapist will then decide what treatment and exercises will best aid in bringing you to your fullest point of recovery. All of our therapists and technicians are experienced and friendly professionals who will make your visit a positive experience.
Congratulations! You’re on your way to a healthier future!
